MikeMails privacy policy
Summary
MikeMails runs entirely on your Mac. There is no MikeMails server. Your email, calendar, and account data are never sent to the developer.
What the app accesses
When you sign in with Google, you choose to give MikeMails access to:
- Gmail messages, threads, and labels, to read, label, archive, and send mail (gmail.modify)
- Gmail filters and settings, to create and manage filters (gmail.settings.basic)
- Google Calendar, to show and create events (calendar)
- Your email address, to tell your accounts apart (openid, email)
Where data is stored
- A copy of your mail and calendar is kept in a local database on your Mac so the app is fast and works offline.
- Sign-in tokens are stored in the macOS Keychain.
- Deleting the app and its folder in ~/Library/Application Support removes all local data. You can also revoke access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Sharing
- MikeMails does not sell, share, or transfer Google user data to anyone.
- Data is not used for advertising and is not used to train AI models.
- Label and reply suggestions run on your Mac using Apple's on-device models by default.
- An optional setting, off by default, sends selected email text to Anthropic's Claude API to improve suggestions. It only runs when you turn it on, uses your own API key, and is governed by Anthropic's commercial API terms.
Google API Services
MikeMails' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
